Every once and a while, I get so busy that I am literally traveling from one meeting directly to another, then off to a show, then home to write and answer emails etc. ect. until there is not a single moment left in the day. This has been one of those weeks and this is the first time all week I have had a short stint of downtime to sit and write.
While I sit here in the quiet of my apartment typing away as the rain drops hit the window, I'm once again reminded of how soothing it can be to just pause. To have time for myself that is not being clocked and categorized. I will also get this feeling from time to time when I am away on a vacation or even a short visit home.
The main problem is I usually don't get to this point unless I get ill in some way. Whether that be run down with a cold or allergies or worse yet, a fever. I wonder how many other people feel the same way. This leads me to my main point which is in our current world where everything is instant, is taking time to pause discouraged? I think it is. I had someone send me an email and within 1 day followed up to ask why I hadn't answered them. Have we all become so consumed by instant communication that now waiting a day seems like an eternity and how many of us feel that if we pause, we may not get the things we want?
How do you pause and how important is it for you? Feel free to take a second to comment below.

Pausing and being still is incredibly important. You need time to think. I come up with my best ideas shortly before I fall asleep in bed. The product of that brief pause during the day.
