If you are thinking about going into business for yourself, now is the time to do it.
Now some of you may be saying, "But, Mike, seriously? We're in a recession. Are you on crack?"
To that I say watch this.
Special thanks to Seth Godin, for introducing me to that movie. Invest 35 minutes of your life today and watch it. 'Nuff said.
The fact of the matter is that no one's job is safe right now, no matter what you're being told and we all have things that we love to do and that we're passionate about. We're all entrepreneurs at heart, and if we were to move forward on some of these ideas and even one arts entrepreneur developed a business model that stimulated the economy, you'd see a lot more respect for the arts.
So watch the video and ask yourself today if you were given that pink slip, that blank page, what would your business be? Forget about whether or not you have an MBA. What would people pay you to do for them?
In fact, I'll make it interesting...
Whoever comes up with the most inspiring, fascinating, and lemonade-like (watch the movie) business proposal, I will help you launch your business.
That's right.
I'll help you put it together, develop your profit model, heck, maybe I'll even invest.
So set up your stand today. I look forward to seeing what you have to offer.
Excelsior!
Thanks for passing along that movie. I was actually recently laid off from my job and decided to throw myself more fully into the Broadway site I've run for fun for years. It is now a successful business and I owe a lot of it to the fact that I am now able to work for myself. Getting laid off was the best thing that ever happened to me.

Annoyingly, you can't view that video outside of the US. Any way to get an internationally available version on here?
