So last night I attended an event put on by the folks behind Superior Donuts, that was very smart. They got the whole team together, invited a bunch of bloggers, and then moved the talent from table to table while we all got the chance to ask them questions.
I got a brief stint with Tracy Letts, and got a chance to snag a few pearls of wisdom. The thing that stuck out most for me was the fact that he talked about how everyone asks how a company out of college becomes Steppenwolf.
"You find the most talented people that you can find. Get them in a room and work together for about 30 years and things start to really happen"
As producers that's what I think our responsibility is. We are charged with finding the best team possible, so that our show can become the force that Steppenwolf has become. Also, we need to find the right people to spread the word about what we do.
That's where the Superior Donuts folks really hit a home run.
Don't believe me?
Google Superior Donuts right now. I'll wait.
Nuff said. Congrats guys. That's some tasty marketing.
